On January 9th, the signing ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University - Shansi Kaiwu AI Innovation Empowerment Joint Laboratory was held at the National Supercomputer Guangzhou Center.

Sun Yat-sen University - Shansi Kaiwu AI Innovation Empowerment Joint Laboratory is a university-enterprise joint research platform promoted by Zhu Jiang, an undergraduate alumnus enrolled in 2003 majored in e-commerce of the School of Business and chairman of Shansi Kaiwu Technology Company. Based on the integrated innovation of "supercomputing + intelligent computing", focusing on AI technology and application research and development, intelligent computing center construction, software ecosystem and other fields, the School of Computer Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University, the National Supercomputer Guangzhou Center, and the School of Business will carry out scientific research and industry-university-research cooperation with Shansi Kaiwu (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd., and jointly build and operate the joint laboratory.

The two parties held a signing ceremony.

According to the official site of the National Healthcare Security Administration, on the morning of January 20th, the relevant responsible comrades of the Central Organization Department attended the meeting of the leading cadres of the National Healthcare Security Administration and announced that the central government decided that Comrade Zhang Ke was appointed Secretary of the Party Group of the National Healthcare Security Administration.

Zhang Ke has been working in the National Audit Office for a long time. After graduating from the audit major of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University in 1989, he joined the Fixed Assets Investment Audit Department of the National Audit Office, serving as Chief Officer and Deputy Director of the General Affairs Department.

On January 14th, 2024, the first meeting of the Medical and Health Alumni Council of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University (hereinafter referred to as the "Council") was successfully held at M202, Shansi Hall, South campus of Guangzhou Campus. Nearly forty people participated in the meeting, including Professor Yan Guangmei - former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sun Yat-sen University and Honorary President of the Council, Zhong Yibiao - Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University and Consultant of the Council, Liu Jingyan - professor of the School of Business and President of the Council, Shi Shaobin - Executive President of the Council and other members of the Council.

On January 13, 2024, the faculty and staff meeting of our school at the end of the fall semester in the 2023 academic year was successfully held in the International Conference Hall of Shansi Hall.

Associate Dean Zhang Junsheng, Associate Dean Li Weiwen, Associate Dean Qin Xin and Deputy Secretary Zhang Yifang respectively made a briefing on the overall work, personnel, scientific research, teaching and student work of the school in the 2023 academic year. Professor Wang Lin and Professor Wu Chenguang, Dean's assistants, made briefings on international cooperation and exchange, informatization, industry-university-research work. They introduced in detail the key points and goals of the school's work in the 2023 academic year, and emphasized the importance of solidarity and collaboration.

Finally, Secretary Zhong Yibiao summarized the Party building work of the school in the 2023 academic year.

Recently, the final of the 2023 China Graduate Enterprise Management Innovation Competition was successfully ended in Shanghai University. Under the guidance of Professor Liu Heng from the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, the "Tuopin, Tuodan, Bu Tuo Fa" team of our school won the national first prize of other graduate groups (the highest national award in the competition), the "Yi Wang Wu Qian" team won the national second prize of the MBA group, and the "Tian Kong Ti Quan" team, "Jian Zhi Zhuo Yue" team and "Fu Ba Ba" team won the national third prize of the MBA group.

Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education announced the results of the provincial first-class undergraduate courses in 2023. The two courses of our school, "Operation Management" and "Financial Statement Analysis and Securities Valuation", were accredited as offline first-class undergraduate courses. Up to now, the school has 3 accredited state-level first-class undergraduate courses and 4 accredited provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses.

On December 20th, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the special project list of "Basic Research on Collaborative Operation and Policy Mechanism for New Energy Systems" of the Department of Management Science. The project of Professor Xia Li of our school, "Safety and Economic Collaborative Scheduling Optimization of Large-scale Distributed New Energy Systems" was approved with a direct funding of 2 million yuan.

On December 2nd, 2023, the 4th Undergraduate Academic Paper Contest Award Ceremony and the 7th "Research Fellow" project launch conference of the School of Business were grandly held in the 106 Report Hall, No.6 Lanyuan, the School of Business, East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University.  Professor Li Weiwen - Associate Dean of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, Associate Professor Wu Yao -Director of the Undergraduate Academic Development Center, Associate Professor Shen Wenguo - representative of the outstanding supervisor, faculty Mou Xin - Director of the Student Affairs Office, and faculty Lin Yaowei - full-time counselor of the Party and government, attended the event.

The students enthusiastically participated in the contest, and a total of 12 contestants participated in the final field defense. The final was divided into the business administration group and the accounting and finance group. The contestants showed their research results confidently on the stage, fully demonstrating the positive, rigorous and realistic academic style of the students from the School of Business.

Next, Associate Professor Wu Yao introduced and officially launched the 7th "Research Fellow" project, which highlights the legacy of academic research in the School of Business.

On December 9th, the Dinghushan Alumni Work Forum of Sun Yat-sen University was held in Dinghu District, Zhaoqing, Guangdong.

The theme of the forum is "One should never forget his origin and always be grateful: Alumni and University Development", focusing on the spiritual connotation of "long-lasting history and kindness of Sun Yat-sun", and aiming at "unity, exchange, cooperation and development". Xie Shi - Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, Li Shanmin - Director of the Department of Economics and Management of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhang Li - member of the Standing Committee and Organization Department of Dinghu District, and member of the Party Work Committee of the New District, as well as the executives of the relevant departments of Dinghu District, the Office of Education Development and Alumni Affairs, Centennial Celebration Office and the Departments of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sun Yat-sen University, Wu Shenjian - General Manager of Guangdong Dinghu Shanquan Co., Ltd., and alumni representatives of various departments of the faculty of Economics and Management attended the forum. The forum was presided over by Huang Ruimin - Director of the Office of Education Development and Alumni Affairs and Secretary-General of the Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University.

Vice President Xie Shi elaborated the profound connotation and significance of the alumni work of Sun Yat-sen University through the three key words of "time-honored", "inclusiveness" and "glory".

The participants expressed their opinions one by one, and warmly offered suggestions on the preparation and planning of the university's celebration work, and had an in-depth discussion on the new cooperation model.

On December 2nd, 2023, the "Power of Management and 2023 CNR.CN MBA Annual Conference" hosted by CNR.CN and organized by mbaedu.cn was successfully held in Beijing.
