MBA Program Overview

The MBA (Masters of Business Administration) program of School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University started in 1996, with the first batch of students officially enrolled in 1998.As of to date, more than 5,000 managerial elite individuals in society have benefited from our program. We are committed to cultivating entrepreneurs with strategic awareness of globalization and professional managers who can adapt to the global competition, the compliance with international standards in teaching and soft power development. We are the first business school in South China and the second in China that was awarded triple accreditations by AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, ranking among the international mainstream business schools. The MBA program of School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University attaches great importance to practice and social responsibility, and has made its MBA program one of the internationally-recognized and most influential MBA brands in China after 20 years of development.

The MBA program of School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was ranked the Top 3 for eight consecutive years in the Most Influential MBA of China by World Entrepreneur magazine, a subsidiary of the World Manager Group.The MBA program of School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was listed as the World’s Top 100 MBA programs by Economist for six consecutive years, being the only business school in mainland China on the list, which further shows that the MBA program of our school has been recognized worldwide. In 2017, Business Administration discipline of our school was selected into the list of “Double-First Class” Construction Discipline by the Ministry of Education and was tied for first place (A+) in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation. Furthermore, it has ranked first in China for six consecutive years (2019-2024) in the Shanghai Ranking’s “Best Chinese Disciplines” rankings.

The MBA program system is divided into four modules: Management basic module, manager mental cultivation module, global campus module and executive competency module. And the executive post competency module includes six courses directions which are CEO/Entrepreneur, CFO, COO, CMO, CHRO and CIO.
