Professor Xiao Haipeng and Professor Wang Fan both emphasized that the transformation of regional medical service practices will provide an empirical basis for national-level policy-making, while national policies will guide innovation and improvement at the regional level. They also highlighted the crucial role of international cooperation in this process. Artificial intelligence plays and will continue to play an important role in medical management. To obtain high-quality data, robust collaboration in data provision is essential, and China possesses the necessary conditions to facilitate this. And they further introduced their respective medical management training programs and goals - to cultivate future leaders and enhance the capabilities of current leaders.

The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Business Administration Case Workshop (hereinafter referred to as "the conference") was grandly held at the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou from December 13th to 15th, 2024. The conference was guided by the National MBA Education Steering Committee, hosted by the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, and organized by the Joint Professional Degree Office of Chen Ruiqiu Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center, and the Student Affairs Office. It was co-organized by the Richard Ivey School of Business and China Europe International Business School, with the support of the Alliance of Business Administration Case Studies of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Universities (in preparation). Guangzhou Automobile Group, Fok Ying Tung Memorial Hall, Guangzhou Nansha Hotel, and Nansha Yacht Club were the visiting enterprises, and the Business Administration Case Research Society of Sun Yat-sen University provided meeting support.

 

DBA | The 2024 China-France outstanding entrepreneurs doctoral programs set sail!

The China-France Outstanding Entrepreneurs - Digital Intelligence Management and Innovation DBA Program (hereinafter referred to as the "China-France Outstanding Entrepreneurs Program") is the highest-level doctoral program for entrepreneur cultivation in the field of business administration jointly launched by Sun Yat-sen University and Grenoble Ecole de Management. It gathers top-notch faculty and leading talents from the academic and business circles of China, France, the United States, and other countries. Through advanced learning in different modules such as digital intelligence management and innovation courses (taught by Chinese faculty), academic research training (taught by French faculty), business applications of generative AI (taught jointly by Chinese and American faculty), and global innovation classrooms, it aims to cultivate scholar-type managers and thinker-type entrepreneurs.

 

On October 13th, 2024, the 2024 enrollment ceremony was held at the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University. Professor Yan Jie - Academic Director of Grenoble Ecole de Management, along with Zhang Junsheng - Dean of our school, Zhong Yibiao - Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Yifang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Wu Chenguang - the assistant to the dean, and Chen Honghui - Senior Academic Director of the Center for Excellence in Management Learning, Dr. Song Bo - the class advisor of DBA program enrolled in 2024, alumnus Dr. Zhang Qing - Director of the Jiangxi Industrial Internet Research Institute of China Telecom, and alumnus Dr. Wu Xianfeng - Director of Zhongtian Holding Group and Chairman of Zhongtian South China Group, were invited to attend and witness together the moment of honor for the class of 2024.

From December 8th to 15th, 2024, led by Professor Wu Chenguang - the assistant to the dean, and Mu Xin - Director of the Center for Excellence in Management Learning, the students traveled to Grenoble Ecole de Management. Nestled at the foot of the Alps, the students immersed themselves in a rigorous curriculum of advanced professional courses and cutting-edge research methods, visited leading enterprises, and delved into the French culture. The romantic French atmosphere and the new learning challenges all served as nourishment, fostering profound personal and intellectual growth.

On the morning of December 10th, Zhu Kongjun - Party Secretary of the university, conducted a field visit and research at the School of Business, inspecting the operational conditions of the school, the progress in discipline construction and the achievements in talent cultivation. Lu Mengyuan, a doctoral student of our school, has been approved a youth student basic research project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China

In the 2024 application for the youth student basic research project (doctoral student) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the project titled "Research on Platform Financing Models Considering Farmers' Strategic Inventory Decisions" proposed by doctoral student Lu Mengyuan under the supervision of Professor Fu Ke from our school was approved and funded with 300,000 yuan. This is the first time a doctoral student from our school has received funding for such a project.

Lu Mengyuan, a doctoral student majoring in Management Science and Engineering enrolled in 2023 at the School of Business, has been engaged in research on sustainable operations management. She has published nine research papers in A-class journals recognized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and SCI first-tier journals. She has also received honors such as provincial-level Outstanding Thesis and Outstanding Graduate Student.

Recently, the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the results of the 2023 annual project performance evaluation. The National Natural Science Foundation youth project "Research on Data-driven Online Advertising Targeting Decision", presided over by Associate Professor Shen Huaxiao of our school, was awarded "Excellent" in the 2023 annual performance evaluation.

The project leader has published these results as the first author in journals such as Operations Research and Production and Operations Management. The research results have enriched the theories and methods in the research field of online advertising targeting, and promoted the application of data-driven prediction and optimization methods in the practical decision making of enterprises.

The School of Business hosted an Academic Symposium on Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility

 

On November 16th and 17th, 2024, the 6th Academic Symposium on Sustainable Development and Corporate social Responsibility themed "ESG Development of 20 Years and High-Quality Development of Chinese Enterprises" was held in the south campus of Sun Yat-sen University. The conference aimed to promote in-depth discussions among academia on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

A total of 167 papers were submitted to the conference, and after three rounds of expert review, 57 were selected for conference presentations, with 6 being awarded as outstanding papers. Professor Yin Juelin from the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiao Hongjing - researcher from the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Professor Shen Hongtao from the School of Management, Jinan University, Professor Li Sihai - Associate Dean from the School of Accounting, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Wang Xiaoguang - Dean of Beijing Rongzhi Corporate Social Responsibility Research Institute, presided over the conference. Over 200 experts and scholars from all over the country attended the conference.

On November 24th, 2024, the AACSB Dean Leadership Conference themed "The leadership of Deans Drives the High-quality Development of Business Education" concluded successfully in Guangzhou. The conference was jointly hosted by the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, and the AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International), and was supported by the Economics and Management Department of Sun Yat-sen University. Over 100 Deans and experts from renowned business schools across the country gathered at the conference to jointly explore the future development direction of business education and the innovative pathways of school governance.
